Timm has been working with the airbrush since the early 1980s, starting with a Badger his father bought him just out of high school. What began in the classic era of automotive graphics and T‑shirt art evolved into a lifelong mastery of fine art, illustration, murals, and professional airbrush technique.
His work and instructional articles have appeared in major trade magazines, newspapers, and industry publications, and he has collaborated with leading brands including Iwata/Medea, Grex, Badger, Createx, Deka, Chroma, and Life‑Tone. Companies often bring him in for live demonstrations, product education, and technique showcases at trade shows and events.
With more than 35 years of teaching experience, Timm has helped thousands of emerging artists understand how airbrushing fits into modern creative work—bridging traditional craftsmanship with today’s digital tools. From large‑scale murals to detailed wildlife illustration, the airbrush remains central to his process and continues to shape the direction of his art.
